This Privacy Policy describes how ALEA S.r.l. ("ALEA UNI", "we", "us") collects, uses and protects your personal data when you visit or make a purchase from www.aleauni.it (the "Site"), in accordance with Regulation (EU) 2016/679 ("GDPR") and applicable Italian data protection law.

2. Data We Collect

Data you provide to us:

  • Identity and contact data: first name, last name, email address, telephone number, billing and shipping address;
  • Order data: products purchased, order history, delivery details;
  • Account data: login credentials and profile information, if you create an account;
  • Business enquiry data: company name, VAT number, store and contact details submitted through our wholesale enquiry form;
  • Correspondence: the content of messages you send us through our contact forms or by email.

Data collected automatically:

  • Device and usage data: IP address, browser type and version, operating system, pages visited, time and date of visit, and interactions with the Site;
  • Cookies and similar tracking technologies, as described in Section 8 below.

3. Purposes and Legal Bases of Processing

  • To fulfil orders (processing payments, shipping, invoicing, returns and customer service) - performance of a contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR);
  • To manage your account and provide access to its features - performance of a contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR);
  • To respond to enquiries, including wholesale applications - performance of pre-contractual measures (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR);
  • To comply with legal obligations (tax, accounting and consumer protection requirements) - legal obligation (Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR);
  • To prevent fraud and secure the Site - legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR);
  • To analyse Site performance and improve our products and services - legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR);
  • To send marketing communications, only where you have subscribed or otherwise given consent - consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR), which you may withdraw at any time.

4. Payments

Payments on the Site are handled by specialised payment service providers (such as Shopify Payments, PayPal, Apple Pay and Google Pay). Your full payment card details are transmitted directly to these providers over encrypted connections; we do not store them on our systems. Each provider processes your data in accordance with its own privacy policy.

5. Who We Share Data With

We share personal data only with recipients that help us operate the Site and fulfil orders:

  • Shopify Inc. (Canada) - the e-commerce platform that hosts the Site and processes order and customer data on our behalf. Canada benefits from an EU adequacy decision for commercial organisations;
  • Payment service providers, to process transactions;
  • Shipping and logistics partners, to deliver your orders;
  • IT, communication and customer-support providers, strictly for the services they perform for us;
  • Public authorities, where required by law.

We do not sell your personal data.

6. International Transfers

Some of our service providers are located outside the European Economic Area. Where personal data is transferred outside the EEA, we rely on an EU adequacy decision or on appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.

7. Data Retention

  • Order and contract data: for the duration of the contractual relationship and thereafter as required by Italian tax and accounting law (up to 10 years);
  • Account data: until you delete your account or request erasure;
  • Wholesale enquiry data: up to 24 months from our last contact, unless a business relationship is established;
  • Marketing data: until you unsubscribe or withdraw consent;
  • Technical and usage data: for the limited periods indicated in our cookie settings.

8. Cookies

The Site uses cookies and similar technologies: essential cookies required for the Site and checkout to function, and, subject to your consent, analytics and marketing cookies. You can accept, refuse or customise non-essential cookies through the cookie banner shown on your first visit, and change your choice at any time through your browser settings or the cookie preferences link on the Site.

9. Your Rights

Under Articles 15-21 GDPR you have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict or object to the processing of your personal data, the right to data portability, and the right to withdraw any consent at any time without affecting prior processing. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Italian supervisory authority, the Garante per la Protezione dei Dati Personali (www.garanteprivacy.it).

10. Minors

The Site is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The current version, with its effective date, is always published on this page. Material changes will be highlighted on the Site.
